Pontos-chave na seleção de tubos de aço inoxidável e de ligas à base de níquel para condições de trabalho em que é necessária resistência à corrosão

Tubular products are widely adopted in petrochemical industry, seawater treatment, chemical processing, food equipment and high‑temperature equipment. Stainless steel pipes and nickel‑based alloy pipes are core choices for anti‑corrosion and high‑temperature working environment. Improper grade selection will lead to early pipe corrosion, leakage and unexpected equipment maintenance cost.

When purchasing alloy pipes, the first factor to confirm is service environment. For general atmospheric and fresh‑water environment, conventional grades such as 304 stainless steel pipe can satisfy most requirements. When working in chloride‑containing seawater environment or moderate corrosive chemical medium, 316L stainless steel pipe is more suitable. For extreme working conditions including high‑temperature oxidation, strong acid‑alkali corrosion, ordinary stainless steel cannot sustain long‑term service, and nickel‑based alloy pipes such as Alloy 600, K500 become the reliable alternative.

Besides material grade, pipe specifications shall be checked carefully: outer diameter, wall thickness, length, manufacturing type (seamless pipe or welded pipe). Seamless alloy pipes perform better under high‑pressure working conditions. Welded pipes have cost advantages for general‑pressure pipelines. Customers need to make selection combined with pressure parameters of their system. Dimensional tolerance shall comply with ASTM or EN standards as agreed.

Quality inspection cannot be ignored for alloy pipes. Every batch of pipes supplied by Wuxi Dasheng Alloy Steel comes with Mill Test Certificate covering chemical composition and mechanical property data. For high‑requirement projects, non‑destructive testing such as eddy‑current test and hydraulic pressure test can be performed according to client demands.

Many global customers confuse the difference between stainless steel and nickel‑alloy pipe. Nickel‑based alloys contain high proportion of nickel element. They maintain good corrosion‑resistance and mechanical performance under high‑temperature and harsh corrosive environment, while the material cost is higher than regular stainless steel. Therefore it is not necessary to blindly select nickel‑alloy products. Reasonable grade matching can balance service performance and project budget.

If you are not certain which pipe grade fits your working condition, you can share your working‑medium information, temperature, pressure parameters with our engineers. Our technical team will give you targeted material suggestions for stainless steel pipe or nickel‑alloy pipe products.
